Admissions

A national model of urban education, here in Philadelphia.

Gesu School is an independent Catholic School, Pre-K to 8th grade, primarily serving low- to moderate-income families from the Philadelphia area. Gesu educates the whole child. We provide academic, spiritual, and character development, so our 400 students can maximize their potential.

While Gesu is co-directed by two religious orders, the Jesuits and the IHM Sisters, our school is a collaboration of people of all faiths – families, teachers, mentors, volunteers, and donors. We welcome students from all faith traditions.

If you have questions or would like more information, email Adrianna Rodriguez, Director of Enrollment Management, at admissions@gesuschool.org.

Mission Statement

Inspired by the Jesuit and IHM traditions of social justice, faith, creative hope, and love, Gesu School helps students to transcend all forms of poverty by providing a comprehensive, innovative education. We empower our students to develop their strengths, overcome challenges, and become positive, engaged members of the community and the world.

Why Gesu School?

“For me, I didn't think that Mya would get the education that I wanted her to receive from our neighborhood school. Gesu was always my choice for her. The education that Mya received from Gesu has prepared her for high school and beyond. I am in awe of how she maneuvers herself during important conversations and situations.  She takes initiative for her education and things that are important to her. If I had to choose again, I would choose Gesu every time. I appreciate the love and support that she has received since being there."
