Who are we?

The Gesu School Junior Board is a group of young professionals invested in Philadelphia’s youth. The group supports Gesu School’s mission to help students to transcend all forms of poverty by providing a comprehensive, innovative education. 

The Junior Board organizes a mentoring program for middle-school students and garners sustainable, next-generation philanthropic support from Philadelphia-based young professionals via fundraising, social events, and corporate partnerships. The Junior Board is dedicated to learning best practices of nonprofit board governance and receives mentorship from Gesu’s highly successful Board of Trustees.

Mentoring Program
Gesu’s Mentoring Program supports Gesu 7th - 8th grade students as they begin the transition from middle school to high school and helps them navigate the academic and social challenges of those early teenage years. Inherent in Gesu's mission is preparing students for top high schools. The Gesu Mentoring Program creates space for students to dialogue on that transition. Fundraising Initiatives
Our collective goal is to raise enough funds to sponsor a child at Gesu School every year. A sponsorship of $8,000 covers the majority of the cost of one child’s Gesu education for the school year.

The Junior Board is inviting you to join the monthly donation program. For the amount it costs to purchase one coffee, one cocktail, or one dinner, you could redirect those funds through a monthly donation to Gesu School to make a real impact on Philadelphia students.

Dinner Level - $35 per month

A generous contribution of $35 per month, comparable to dinner out in the city, will make a deep and lasting impact on Gesu School.  If just 25 friends commit to this level of giving, we will meet our goal of sponsoring the education of a Gesu student. Join now!

Cocktail Level - $12 per month

Your contribution of $12 per month, equal to the price of a cocktail or two beers at your favorite pub, quickly adds up to make a substantial difference in the life of a child at Gesu. Join now!

Coffee Level - $5 per month

A donation of just $5 per month, the equivalent of one fancy coffee drink, can help to transform the life of a student at Gesu. Join now!

The Gesu Junior Board held its inaugural rooftop fundraiser and beer garden in fall 2017 with nearly 80 attendees.

The Gesu Junior Board supports the annual Gesu Gala with a silent auction of goods and services, such as sports and music tickets.
